TUTTOCHROMAME™ RAINBOW TC10 Application Guide
Achieve a flawless, iridescent finish by following these precise steps:
1. Surface Preparation
- Smooth Perfection: For pitted areas, meticulously sand and level the surface using medium to coarse grit sandpaper (400-600). This crucial step maximizes smoothness and flatness for optimal results.
- Contamination-Free: Thoroughly remove any contaminants using SCUDOPICKLING 100AB solvent cleaner, especially vital for metal surfaces.
2. Primer Application
- Precise Mixing: Combine TUTTOPRIMER IC100B (100 parts) with TUTTOCATALYST IC80 (80 parts) at a 5:4 mix ratio. Remember to shake well before use.
- Even Application: Apply using an HVLP spray gun (or standard spray gun) fitted with a 2-1.3 mm nozzle. Maintain a nozzle pressure of 1.50 bar (21.75 psi).
- Critical Drying:
- Accelerated Cure: Dry at 60°-70°C for 70 minutes, then allow a 30-minute rest.
- Ambient Dry: Alternatively, let it cure at ambient temperature (20-25°C) for 12-24 hours.
- Maintain Cleanliness: Ensure drying occurs in a clean, dust-free environment. Crucially, avoid touching coated surfaces during this stage.
3. Chrome Application (Rainbow TC10)
- Prepare Your Product: Thoroughly shake the 1K TUTTOCHROMAME RAINBOW TC10 before pouring it into your HVLP spray gun.
- Spray Technique: Use a 1-1.2/1.3 mm nozzle at a pressure of 50 bar (21.75 psi).
- Layer for Coverage: Apply three even layers of TUTTOCHROME using crossed strokes to achieve complete surface coverage. We recommend spraying from bottom to top, then crossing from left to right.
- Optimal Drying for Reflectivity:
- Accelerated Dry: Dry at 60°-70°C for 70 minutes.
- Maximum Reflectivity: For best results, allow to dry at ambient temperature for 24 hours. The longer solvents evaporate, the higher the spherical reflectivity (up to 90%-95%).
4. Top Coat Application
- Clear Coat Mix: Combine CLEARTOP MT300 (100 parts) with CLEARCATALYST MT934 (40 parts) at a 5:2 mix ratio. Apply with an HVLP spray gun (or standard spray gun), using a 2-1.3 mm nozzle at a pressure of 1.50 bar (21.75 psi).
- Custom Coloring (Optional): If a specific color is desired, add CME Pigments to the mixed CLEARTOP MT300 and CLEARCATALYST MT934. Refer to the bottle label for the precise mix ratio for each pigment.
- Initial Drying & Handling: Let the first coat dry at 60°-70°C for 1 hour or at room temperature for 12-24 hours. After 3 hours, the product can typically be handled and packaged.
- Ensure Durability & Gloss: Always apply a second layer of CLEARTOP MT300 (100%) + CLEARCATALYST MT934 (40%) after any color coating. This is critical for achieving a high-quality, glossy, and durable finish.
- Matte Finish Option: For a matte aesthetic, use CLEARTOP MT800 (Matte finish) and SCUDO 8 SC Anti-fouling instead of CLEARTOP MT300 and CATALYST MT934. Consult their specific mixing instructions.
